To current BTC class members, the 2012 class had great success by holding study sessions for the written exam. Studying together helped us draw from our collective strengths. We would like to invite the current class to study sessions. We will share our learning materials with you and make ourselves available for questions. Location TBD (will post an update when it's locked in). Please let us know if anyone is interested, and also which days and times you will be available for study sessions. Last time we had several sessions to accommodate varying life schedules. You can email cttfaposniper@gmail.com or call/text 646-543-6771 with your availability. You can also speak to A/PO Cosme who suggested the sessions! Hoorah!!

Congrats to the 2013 NFL Champion Baltimore Ravens. Just a reminder, The Super Bowl will be held at Met Life Stadium, home of the NY Jets and Giants next year around this time. Ten days leading up to the Super Bowl will have this city rocking. The Mayor and the NFL announced last week that from W34st to W44St on Broadway, the streets will be tranformed to an interactive NFL Village known as Super Bowl Blvd. All hotels are already starting to be booked up and many other activities are going to be planned around the city including the Ship Terminal which may be hosting several cruise lines that will be involved with the Superbowl. The city is in talks with the terminal as we speak. Those of you that plan on sticking around for the next year are in luck. We have lots to do. If you are still trying to get into the program, you have today and tomorrow to get your complete application in. If you don't, it's too late. Ladies and Gents, this weekend begins our season. LET'S GET MOTIVATED!!!! Saturday and Sunday, Let's GO!!! MOTIVATED, DEDICATED, PROUD. SETTING THE STANDARD. WE ARE THE CTTF!

Proud and pleased. I'm proud to have been part of the talented CTTF crew P.O. Green mentioned on Friday's deployment. I'm also pleased with the warm welcome extended both to me and to APO Fredericks by both Coordinators, the other CTTF Supervisors, and the APOs I've met thus far. I look forward to meeting and working with more of the members of this very squared away unit that's already beginning to feel like home. Fidelis ad Mortem.

Team, great things are happening. The weather is turning for the best and spring is in the air. Let the motivation begin. The more hours we put in the more this unit gets rewarded including new vehicles, additional promotions and more training. If not we have things removed from us including our wheels.

Edward I. Koch, the master showman of City Hall, who parlayed shrewd political instincts and plenty of chutzpah into three tumultuous terms as mayor of New York with all the tenacity, zest and combativeness that personified his city of golden dreams, died Friday morning at age 88. Mr. Koch’s spokesman, George Arzt, said the former mayor died at 2 a.m. from congestive heart failure. He was being treated at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia hospital. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg praised Mr. Koch as “an irrepressible icon, our most charismatic cheerleader and champion,” calling him “a great mayor, a great man, and a great friend.”

Will power is the ultimate strength to conquer your fears. Fear is always the hindrance in pursuing endeavors in life. It prevents us from achieving what we desire. It serves as a barrier towards achieving our full potential. Fear is everywhere. Fear of losing money in investments. Fear of entrepreneurship. Fear of what people will tell you. Fear of rejection. “I will do today what other people won't, so that I can have tomorrow what other people can't”. You must conquer your fear with will power. You must WILL to do what it takes in order to HAVE the tomorrow that you deserve.

The BTC Class met tonight with the help of many of our current officers and they showed us that they are definately up for the task of joining this unit. The self defense class went nice and smooth. So far, all of the BTC members are passing their tactics portion of their training. Due to scheduling conflicts, their written exam will be coming after they complete the self defense training. My message to them is, KEEP IT UP! GREAT JOB TONIGHT!!! MOTIVATED, DEDICATED, PROUD. YOU ARE THE CTTF BTC CLASS!!!!! HOORAH!

Officer Green, it seems as if your "team" doesn't like responding to your motivational posts. When dealing with volunteers, remember to not get yourself crazy over the lack of hours or participation. I have found in my many years of being in the program that a lot of these people join for the wrong reasons, a lot join because they lack the mental toughness to actually go through with being a full time officer or they just run out of steam. Don't bang your head on the wall or kill yourself to motivate them. They are not always type A personalities or "alpha's" like yourself. By the way you talk and post, it is obvious that you have been a competitor on a team before. You probably are still. Many people do not understand how to work as a team. You may try and teach them but I don't believe some an be helped. I support what you are doing. Keep it up. You are very good for the program.
