The first aid training class tonight held at Philips Beth Israel was very informative, and pretty fun too. Much thanks to Pete & Bernice who taught tonight's class. A lot of past CPR procedure has been changed over the past year due to new medical research; if anyone is interested in notes I took as well as handouts, reach out to me for a copy and I'll email it to you.

Thank you to the Coordinators and Leadership for opening the floor to the APBA during the CTTF meeting last night. For those of you who did not get an application, you can download it from the APBA website or email me and I will send you a copy (cttfaposniper@gmail.com). The mailing address for completed applications and the membership fee ($30/yr) is on the form. If anyone has questions please feel free to contact me. We all have ideas for improving the unit and the Auxiliary program in general. Let's work together to make them happen! :-) I am available for venting, brainstorming, cake binges, and any other productive problem-solving activities you all can think of (*cough* *paintball!*) HOOOORAH!!

Thanks for the welcome at last night's productive meeting. While I've already worked several enjoyable and productive courtesy tours w/the unit, I look forward to getting to work with more of you going forward. Fidelis ad Mortem.

I believe our team is headed in the right direction together...i could feel unity in the room, even if it was unspoken. I forgot to mention at the meeting that deployments/foot patrols in conjunction with other precincts would be a way for us to be more active citywide.

I want to thank all of the members of this unit that showed up tonight. I know a lot of people don't like being put on the spot but if you have any ideas on how we can improve the unit we are more than open to suggestions. Also to the current BTC class thank you for being at the meeting as well. I know most of you can't wait to be officially shielded. Also tomorrow (Thursday) there will be patrol report time 1700 HRS. Dress warm as we are still going thru the deep freeze of winter.

I was very pleased with the turnout at the TSBA Meeting on Tuesday night. The turnout should be better but I was happy with the members that showed up in support of their teammates. Overall, the numbers were low for the meeting and thank God the CTTF Auxiliary showed up. We were the majority of the attendees. A congrats once again to all of those who received awards. I would like to see more of you involved in this sort of positive teambuilding in the future. Those that came, know exactly what I'm talking about. We are highly respected amongst our peers. We need to continue to show that we set the standard. That is the responsibility of all of you, not just the few that show up to everything. TONIGHT: MANDATORY GENERAL BODY MEETING!!! 2000 AT THE CTTF BASE. BE THERE!!!

CONCERNED
01-22-2013 10:01:49 AM EST

I am no longer a member of this unit but, I will say that no company, no unit, no team, no job in my life has ever been run like this unit. Officer Green has indeed gone above and is the epitome of a coordinator. He has been a great leader and friend to many of you that wear that uniform. Listen to him and stand up for him and yourselves. The units motto is not just a smoke being blown up your rears, it is your teams identity. I honestly feel that all of you have been spoiled by the great leadership that you have. I feel like you have taken it for granted. Now that I'm out, I see how lucky I was to be part of that team. Listen to him Rough Riders. Wake Up.

P.O. GREEN   WAKE UP!!!
01-22-2013 9:11:01 AM EST

I am really getting tired of the recent attitude that this team has taken on. There are a few exceptions in the group, but since this is a team, the entire team gets it. You have no idea how lucky you are that you have 2 coordinators that go above and beyond our jobs like we do. When I took this position, I thought that the more that we got you guys involved with, the better. The more initiatives, the more patrols, the more exposure, the more fun. I have put us in the middle of some great details. I have taken a lot of chances with this unit. I also created the Member of the Month award last year in an attempt to recognize the stand outs and leaders of this team. I contacted the President of the TSBA and had to push a little to get the platform that they now give us at every meeting that they host. This is unique to the program and very special. Unfortunately, this team takes what we do for granted. Where are you? Where are the positive posts? What are you thinking? In order to maintain the status and reputation that this unit has earned, we must stick to the principles that I live by and the principles that have become this units motto. MOTIVATED, DEDICATED, PROUD. If you are no longer Motivated, you will not be Dedicated, and there is no way that you have any Pride. THIS IS WHAT FUELS THIS ANIMAL OF A UNIT!!! WE ARE FUELED BY MOTIVATION, DEDICATION, AND PRIDE. WE HAVE TAKEN OVER THE PROGRAM AND HAVE BECOME THE STANDARD FOR THIS PROGRAM!!! Now, I find myself looking around and wondering, WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYONE? Are they serious in this program? Are they truly members of this team? This family? I can not answer these questions. Those answers are for those who choose to continue their service while wearing that horse patch. The question must be answered by the LEADERS of this team. LADIES AND GENTS, IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO STEP IT UP!!! TONIGHT IS THE TSBA MEETING AND THE LONGEVITY AWARDS. I AM ASKING ALL OF YOU TO SHOW UP AT THE TSBA AWARDS. THE LONGEVITY RECIPIENTS WILL BE COMING TO THE MEETING FOLLOWING THE EVENTS AT 1PP. WE HAVE 8 AWARD RECIPIENTS RECEIVING AWARDS AT THE TSBA MEETING. For those of you that do not know what the TSBA is, it is the Traffic Squad Benevolent Association. The oldest fraternal organization of the NYC Police Dept. Being a member is being a part of history. The cost of yearly membership is $15. Dues will be collected tonight plus a extra $10 for the use of the RSVP restaurant at 15 Watts St. The meeting is at 1800 hrs (6pm) and there will be food and drinks available. The TSBA meeting is open to all including the current BTC Class members. I WANT THIS UNIT TO STAND UP AND BE REPRESENTED BY THE BEST AND ONLY THE BEST. WE SET THE STANDARD AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO SET THE STANDARD. I WILL NOT SETTLE FOR ANYTHING LESS THAN THE BEST. IF I DID, WE WOULD NOT BE WHERE WE ARE TODAY. WAKE UP!!!!! JOIN ME, MOTIVATED, DEDICATED, PROUD. WE ARE THE CTTF!!!

P.O. Green, at the last minute, the training Sgt. scheduled me for the annual Hepatitis B/ airborne pathogens in-service training tomorrow afternoon. This mandatory training is occurring on my regular days off and is considered overtime. Leaving Kingston @ 1530 hr would mean I would arrive at CTTF stationhouse anywheres between 1730 to 1800 [about 110 miles of driving from Kingston] depending upon traffic conditions. I realize you want to depart @ 1715 for the TSBA meeting. As I don't want to see you late for the TSBA meeting @ 1800 due to my account; I will pass the opportunity to travel to CTTF for now. I am sure you will have a good turnout for both events, and I would have bought my digital camera for great pictures as I did the last time.Thank you for your understanding.

TROOPS: Tuesday night is a very big night for this unit. The TSBA enables this unit to be represented by giving us a platform in which we utilize by rewarding our Members of the Month for doing outstanding work. Many high profile men and women are in attendance during these meetings. It is a very good thing for this unit and it helps us to look better with a large turnout. WHO IS COMING? We will be leaving the base at 1715, the latest. Let's have a great turnout!!! LET'S GET MOTIVATED PEOPLE!!!

My first post identifying my new command, and proud I am to be aboard. Since I can't be two places at once, hearty congratulations to those receiving awards Tuesday at TSBA. I'll be wearing my new collar brass at Longevity, though due to locker logistics I must suit up at my former 1st Pct. I look forward to seeing all at the Wednesday Meeting.
