Any supervisor working tomorow?
09-07-2012 7:03:46 PM EST
I represented NYPD CTTF Auxililary at the wake for Lt. Collins, the Auxiliary CO at the Nassau PD Auxiliary Elmont precinct. Both the family and Nassau PD Auxiliary were appreciative that a NYPD unit thought to pay respects. As I went to Elmont HS, it was local for me as well.

I want your names on or inside every piece of equipment that YOU OWN, not borrowed equipment. This includes your hats. Put your name inside your hats. An inspection will be done 10/1/12 and God help any of you that do not have your name in your hats. Enough is enough. Hats do not walk away! If you have a collection of hats, I suggest you either provide some receipts or hire a very good lawyer! No more games! If you lose something, I am the last person that you want to inform. Failure to safeguard is a CD! Do everything to find it first. No more games. You are adults!

Once again, THERE HAS BEEN NO DATE SET FOR THE NEXT BASIC TRAINING COURSE TO BEGIN. The original INK prints that were taken are now outdated and were never processed. Since this is a police department that you are joining, you will not be allowed in until your background checks have been processed and approved. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, will have their prints done again at the Auxiliary Police Section. The commands that are processing your application will be told when to contact all applicants and set up appointments for your prints to be taken on the LIVESCAN machine. That is the official word! Now, many people have contacted me directly asking the question, "is this just for CTTF or is this for the entire city?" Here is the answer, THE ENTIRE NYPD!!!! CTTF is just another command within the NYPD. We are not a different agancy. We answer to a different Bureau (Transportation Bureau) but we are still the NYPD. I ask that you all be patient and the calls will come. I understand that many of you have begun school and will now face scheduling conflicts with your BTC class. Remember, every Boro has a class and you may attend any boros class including the CTTF course which is taught on Wednesday nights. We currently have over 40 people going into the next BTC class and we may have to teach the class on another night as well. You must contact your coordinator and advise them that you are attending the course in another place in order to ensure that you get credit for the course. They in return will contact APS and let them know. I welcome any candidates into my class if it helps any of you out. I thank all of you for your support to the NYPD. On another topic, The CTTF would like to invite any members of the program that are interested in WORKING the 9/11 detail to contact us and do a courtesy tour. We welcome the help and support. If you are interested, log onto cttfauxiliary.com and fill out the contact form. A Coordinator or Supervisor will return your message as soon as possible. Remember, prior permission is required from your coordinator before you do a courtesy tour. Those members doing a courtesy tour must bring their own vest, radio, hood. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!! STAY SAFE AND FIDELIS AD MORTEM.

P.O. GREEN TONIGHT
09-07-2012 8:56:57 AM EST
TROOPS: It is Friday night and it is FASHION WEEK in NYC. Those that worked the many details last night will tell you that it was crazy. Tonight should be even crazier than last night. We will be focusing on the Meat Packing District and assisting the 6pct. The Commanding Officer and XO of the 6pct were very happy to see us out there last night. As soon as they saw us, they knew exactly who we were without asking. They appreciate our help. According to various sources, OWS is attempting to start some protests in the area of the MeatPacking District. We will provide additional patrol support and keep our eyes and ears open. If you plan on coming out tonight, let us know by posting or go to the contact form and send me a quick response. In regards to Leatherneck's post, Thank You. I miss the Company and I hope that all of you are staying safe. Semper Paratus!
Leatherneck NEW RULES: DISCIPLINE
09-07-2012 8:31:43 AM EST
DISCIPLINE: In its original sense, discipline is systematic instruction given to disciples to train them as students in a craft or trade, or any other activity which they are supposed to perform, or to follow a particular code of conduct or "order". Often, the phrase "to discipline" carries a negative connotation. This is because enforcement of order – that is, ensuring instructions are carried out – is often regulated through punishment. Discipline is the assertion of willpower over more base desires, and is usually understood to be synonymous with self control. Self-discipline is to some extent a substitute for motivation, when one uses reason to determine the best course of action that opposes one's desires. Virtuous behavior is when one's motivations are aligned with one's reasoned aims: to do what one knows is best and to do it gladly. Continent behavior, on the other hand, is when one does what one knows is best, but must do it by opposing one's motivations. Moving from continent to virtuous behavior requires training and some self-discipline. HOORAH PO Green!!! Give them some push ups while you're at it. All kidding aside, PO Green (aka ME3 Green) is attempting to tighten this unit up, both mentally and physically. It is a Military training tactic used in training and it works. Just keep your bearings and you will all be fine. From what I understand, the CTTF is a very disciplined group and the CTTF does actually set the standard for your program. How do I know? I am an outsider that serves in another Dept down south, I am a retired Marine and now a Coast Guardsman that serrved under Petty Officer Green. Listen to Green. I know him, he was my Company Leader and he knows his stuff. He is a true LEADER and MOTIVATOR. Consider yourselves lucky to have an optimistic commander. He tightened up our company in Cape May after we screwed up big. Green seemed fearless and took on a responsibility that most wouldn't have in the middle of a firestorm. He put his head down and ran directly into the fire without looking back. DEPOT COMPANY 0512 is still grateful for his HONOR, RESPECT, AND DEVOTION TO DUTY. As Green said so many times in the past, "stand tall, be proud, and play the f**king game. Remember who you are and what you are doing this for." Nice to see things haven't changed. Keep it up ME3 and awesome site!
P.O. GREEN NEW RULES
09-07-2012 7:34:57 AM EST
NEW RULES! AS OF 2300 hrs LAST NIGHT, NO A/PO'S WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE COORDINATORS OFFICE. A/SGT'S AND ABOVE WILL BE ALLOWED BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO GRANT PERMISSION TO AN A/PO TO ENTER. WHY? STICKY FINGERS! I'M SURE THAT IT IS NOT INTENTIONAL, BUT BECAUSE SOME OFFICERS OBVIOUSLY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH TAKING OTHER PEOPLES THINGS AND NOT RETURNING THEM, WE NEED TO IMPLEMENT NEW RULES. ALL MASKS, 10'S, RADIO'S, VESTS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED BY YOUR SUPERVISORS IN A MILITARY MANNER. THEY WILL THEN ACCOUNT FOR THE RETURN OF YOUR LOANED ITEMS AT THE END OF TOUR. ACCOUNTABILITY WILL BE RESTED ON THEM. LOCKERS AND LOCKS: IF YOU ARE AT MORE THAN 6 FEET AWAY FROM YOUR LOCKER OR IF YOU CAN NOT SEE YOUR LOCKER, YOUR LOCKER MUST BE LOCKED AND ON ZERO (0). WE HAD AN INCIDENT WITH A VEST LAST NIGHT AND I BELIEVE IF PROCEDURE WAS FOLLOWED, I WOULD HAVE HAD A BETTER NIGHT. INSTEAD, MY NIGHT WAS RUINED BECAUSE OF LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY TAKEN BY MEMBERS OF THIS COMMAND. LOCK YOUR LOCKERS!!! FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE NEW RULES WILL RESULT IN COMMAND DISCIPLINE OR TERMINATION. HARSH? NO! JUST TRYING TO MAKE THE BEST UNIT BETTER. I SEE A WEAKNESS AND I AM ATTACKING IT. WE SET THE STANDARD, AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO DO IT. JUST FOLLOW MY IDEAS AND I PROMISE ALL OF YOU, WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE THE BEST. I HAVE NOT LEAD YOU IN THE WRONG DIRECTION YET. I AM JUST TAKING SOME MILITARY INFLUENCE AND INCOORPERATING IT TO THIS COMMAND. JUST PLAY THE GAME!

This service banner with the police shield in the middle honors our active duty law enforcement officers and the daily sacrifices they make to serve and protect us. The banner that is pictured has been displayed on my front entrance door since September 2001.

Congratulations once again to A/P.O. Thomas aka ‘Sniper’ on member of the month!!! Everyone who attended last night’s detail did an excellent job – it was a great turnout. There was a small incident when returning to the house last night involving some drunks and a dented Lexus but it was nothing P.O. Navarro wasn’t able to wrap up quickly, calmly and with the utmost professionalism. Joe continually sets the standard in policing by definition; deescalating situations and maintaining peace and order of the community. Keep it up CTTF!!!!! I’m looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday for the 9/11 detail. Stay safe Rough Riders FIDELIS AD MORTEM!!!!

P.O. GREEN MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS
09-06-2012 9:53:38 AM EST
A service flag or service banner in the United States is an official banner that family members of service members can display. The flag or banner is defined as a white field with a red border, with a blue star for each family member serving in the Armed Forces of the United States during any period of war or hostilities in which the Armed Forces of the United States are engaged. THE CTTF AUXILIARY UNIT CURRENTLY HAS 5 MEMBERS WHO ARE ACTIVE AND SERVING IN THE UNITED STATES MILITARY. SINCE WE ARE A FAMILY, WE WILL NOW FLY THE SERVICE BANNER ON OUR SITE IN THEIR HONOR. THE 5 MEMBERS: A/PO SU, A/PO GALLETTI, A/PO SHERIDAN, A/PO WILSON, AND P.O. GREEN. FIDELIS AD MORTEM!!!!

A HUGE CONGRATS TO APO KAREN SNIPER THOMAS! When I counted the hours last night myself I was extremely blown away and impressed by this rookie yet veteran liked attituded teammate of mine. She continues to be a strong force to be reckoned with in this unit and I see nothing but positive things in her future. I'm proud to have her on my team!
Also Sniper thank you for the shout out in your thank post!
P.O. GREEN IT'S ALL ABOUT ATTITUDE
09-06-2012 8:55:55 AM EST
Positive attitude helps to cope more easily with the daily affairs of life. It brings optimism into your life, and makes it easier to avoid worry and negative thinking. If you adopt it as a way of life, it will bring constructive changes into your life, and makes them happier, brighter and more successful. Wow! Thank you!!! The guidance and support I have received from the Coordinators and Supervisors is unlike anything I've experienced in the corporate world. A/Sgt De Dier leads with a big stick and soft heart, A/Sgt France has treated me like a sister from day 1, A/Sgt Hilton provides a steady stream of seasoned advice, A/Sgt McSweeney has rescued me twice now and he just got here! Captain Quinones coaches me on upgrading my skillset. PO Navarro mixes it up with fun details (like tonight's concert!). PO Green creates the Spartan aura that makes you want to push yourself to greatness. Lt Lewis believed in me and facilitated my APBA delegate application (thank you!!miss you!!) The past few weeks since graduation have been packed with tons of opportunities to help the community, experience different cultures, gawk at celebrities (or Presidential motorcades!), and take personal responsibility for the safety of our fellow New Yorkers. Several people have asked me about increasing their hours. Here's my 2 cents- do it because you want to be here. Increasing hours increases your contact with mentors and the general public. You will enhance your skills and provide much needed omniprescence! Remember your reasons for joining and find that passion before you go out on tour. Try working with different Supervisors. Also, work the weekend details! We have a unique unit that allows us to perform a variety of duties! Take advantage of that while you're here. There's nothing like being a Rough Rider!!! :-) Thanks again for the acknowledgment! I look forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming CTTF General Member Meeting and the APBA General Member Meeting. We can all actively create positive change! I'm excited to hear everyone's suggestions! HOORAH!!!!!!

We are looking like we have one full van for the 9/11 detail. Do we have enough for 2 vans????
