The illustration you posted looks like a mourning band. I would expect to see it when a brother or sister has died, but not as part of a congratulatory message. Just sayin'

Congrats to PO Green!

Big congrats to PO Green and to APO Galletti!!! Both received commissions today. Our team not only excels at CTTF but in our personal lives. I am very proud of both of you and I am happy to call you my friend. I salute you both!!!
RETURN THE EQUIPMENT
05-11-2012 9:07:44 AM EST
TROOPS: You must return all the equipment that you borrow during your tour. This includes all parts of the response hood (Straps), the radio, the vest, and anything else that you may borrow. It is not fair to other members. Also, VEST 30? Anyone? VEST 30 IS MISSING. Check your lockers. We are not playing. We have tracked the vest but we need the person with it to return it. It is in that members best interest for a few reasons. #1-Hours are low. #2-You are not personally assigned that vest.#3-You are breaking a very serious rule. The biggest problem is that radio holders are being left on your belts and the mask straps are not being returned. GIVE THEM BACK!!! Not fair to your brothers and sisters.

I am proud to announce that I was officially sworn in as Petty Officer 3rd Class in the United States Coast Guard yesterday during a ceremony in Wantagh, NY. I received my orders as well. My orders have me leaving on 7/22/12 and returning to NY on 8/10/12. This was a very proud moment for me. I kept it very quiet but I feel that I must let you all in on my joy. Most of you have a dream to one day become a Police Officer. You joined the program awaiting that call. Some have received that call and some wait and wait and wait. I grew up with the dream to be a police officer as well. I wanted to be a cop and I wanted to be in the Coast Guard. To me, they were dreams. Obviously, I became a cop at an early age. The other dream of becoming a member of the Coast Guard escaped me because of many obstacles. Work, school, private business, kid, etc.... At the age of 33, I woke up and decided to follow my dream of joining the Coast Guard Reserves. Too old? Maybe. Crazy? Maybe. Everything said, BAD IDEA MARTY! I saw all the obstacles as a challenge and I never gave up on that dream. What I am trying to say to those of you waiting, DON'T GIVE UP. KEEP YOUR DREAMS IN SIGHT. WORK HARD, STAY IN SHAPE, AND KEEP THE FAITH. Nobody is going to hand it to you. You must earn it. You must WORK towards your dreams. Our motto, "MOTIVATED, DEDICATED, PROUD, CTTF." Well, stay motivated in following your dreams, stay dedicated to your dreams, and be proud of who you are. Keep up doing a great job! Today is Friday and I want to put out a large patrol. Tomorrow is Saturday and I will be out at the ship terminal. Get in and make a difference. Keep Setting The Standard!!! You are the CTTF!!!

Thank You 24 Years for the tremendous amount of compliments. This doesn't mean that "we will be holding hands in the shower until the wee hours of the morning." Classic line from Heartbreak Ridge. Seriously, I really enjoy working with such a great group of officers. They motivate me to do the right thing by them. I recently had an offer to transfer into another unit and turned it down because of these men and women. Yes, the move would have been good for me but I would not be comfortable leaving these officers. Loyalty goes both ways. I do thank you though and really appreciate the good press. See, I can take a compliment. The success of this unit is all because of the men and women that put those uniforms on and get out on patrol and make a difference. I thank them. Stay Safe.

Officer Green, I have spent many years in this program. I am a proud member. I have never seen such enthusiasm and general care as I have seen with you. I had the opportunity to meet you recently while I was off duty. I was in plain clothes and did not identify myself. I was so impressed by the way that you carried yourself. C.O. Conna is correct, you are a model Officer. I heard a lot about your unit and I found this site tonight. I do have to agree that your unit sets the standard and that is because of your leadership. Your reputation is extremely accurate. Whatever you are doing, keep it up. You set the standard, therefore your unit follows. Take some credit! If most of the coordinators were like you, we would be more equipped and we would be more respected. I am very much impressed with your people. In my business, you would looked upon as the go to guy. I thank you for all your effort and hard work and I want you to know that the people of this program appreciate the way you are changing the way that everyone sees us. It is a long time coming. Thank you and stay safe. The NYPD should be very proud of an officer like you.

NOW THAT'S A GREAT IDEA!!! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT BABY!! GET INVOLVED, GET MOTIVATED, STAY DEDICATED, AND BE PROUD!!! Consider "OPERATION THOMAS" in full effect!! HOOOOOOOORAH!!!!!

PO Green, sometimes when we come in for patrol, we end up looking for either one of our vans for a while because the person who drove it last didn't park it in the usual spot. I thought it might be a good idea to have a spot on the dry erase board where the vans' locations are indicated. I brought this up to PO Navarro. What do you think?

TROOPS: THIS IS A MUST ATTEND DETAIL!!! EVERYONE MUST BE THERE!! This detail is in honor of our fallen. It is very important for all of us to be at this detail. We need to roll into this detail with 2-4 vans and an RMP. I do not want anyone to doubt that this unit sets the standard. I will be requesting that all Highway Units as well as all CTTF members attend this years memorial. The Transportation Bureau cares about our fallen and we will show the entire Police Dept, both active and retired members, family members of the fallen and anyone else that may attend. ALL OF YOU MUST ATTEND!!! This will be a 0900 leave time from the base. That should give us enough time. Dress Uniforms with white gloves. Plan on hanging around afterwards for some team building. We continue to SET THE STANDARD for this program and this is yet another chance for us to point that out to this Dept. Please, Mark your calendars for May 19, 2012. Make plans to come in and notify us. Supervisors, start making calls to all members and the list of people attending should be called into me asap. I will put more vans aside if need be. FIDELIS AD MORTEM!!

ATTENTION: We have been talking a lot about our weekend tours with the C.O. and admin staff and we have been requested to step up our weekend ship terminal coverage. We need to increase manpower. Our weekend coverage is weak right now. The big parades are going to start very soon as well as huge details and we are going to get the call to assist in them. The lack of weekend coverage has been ignored too long and MUST be addressed. If anyone is able to assist our regular Sat. and Sun. details, PLEASE give us at least one weekend a month. The tours are usually busy and the time goes real fast. The Supervisors (A/Sgt Olson, A/Sgt Seasquirt, A/Lt Lewis) are great to work with. The Summer tours are on the ship terminal right on the water and the sights are unreal! The parades and details are a blast! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, STEP IT UP! This is where we prove to everyone that we do deserve more equipment (vans, cars, radios, and hopefully bikes again). Permission for Auxiliary members working the ship terminal to wear the bike uniform is in the works and I do not see a problem in sight. It is up to our C.O. and he wants us out there assisting the CTTF move traffic and help with bike safety in the bike lanes and bike path. BOTTOM LINE, LET'S INCREASE OUR HOURS ON THE WEEKENDS!!! I KNOW IT CAN BE DONE! AFTERALL, WE ARE THE CTTF. WE RISE TO THE TASK EVERY TIME. WE SET THE STANDARD. WE ARE MOTIVATED. WE WILL NOT BE STOPPED. HOORAH!!

OPEN ENROLLMENT UPDATE: Officer Navarro, A/Capt Quinones, and I attended the APS open enrollment last night and we were able to recruit a remarkable 52 candidates. Most of them were there to see us. They all knew about us from friends and forums. Our reputation is getting out there. This unit is now in the spotlight. We must keep up what we are doing. We need to continue to set the standard. Let's Stay Motivated, Stay Dedicated, Stay Proud!!! We are the CTTF!!!

Only P.O Green comes between me and my Calvins. Thanks P.O. Green for all of your help last night. It was really great seeing you again!

eLite Security, Police Officer Green represents what a dedicated public officer should be: Proud, dedicated and motivated to the people of New York City and the State of New York. For you see; there is no higher calling than public service. It takes a special type of individual to wear the blue uniform and perform law enforcement duties. Public service law enforcement officers comprise a bonding amongst us that few in the private sector would comprehend. I am sure Officer Green is flattered by your job offer. Nevertheless, Officer Green will one day be a future police executive in the NYPD and his visions as a progressive thinker will be adapted.

Officer Green, I would like to thank you and your men for a job well done last night. I have been involved in this Gala as well as many others and have yet to come across a detail that was run as smooth as last nights. You and your people made that happen. That job offer stands. Call us. Have a great day.

I worked with all of you last night on the detail and found this site after speaking with PO Green. I have to say, WOW. Very impressive. Last night went well because of all the auxiliary units and we appreciate you all for coming out and withstanding the rain with us. This was my second year of working this detail and you made it look easy. Thanks again

This Unit was on Fire last night!!! The members that showed up and WORKED last night were amazing. Everyone associated with the event could not believe the job that was done by all of you. Upon leaving, I was approached by the DCPI's office, CPP Lt., all the cops assigned, the members of the security company and the VP of the security company that was working the party. I was even offered a job and they went on and on about how great you all were. You guys took control of that detail and impressed everyone. This is one of the reasons for our reputation and success. YOU GUYS SET THE STANDARD FOR THIS PROGRAM AND YOU PROVED IT LAST NIGHT AGAIN!!! You make this unit shine and because of that, YOU'RE ON FIRE BABY!!!!

TROOPS: I WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE THAT A/SGT. IAN DE DIER IS APRIL'S MEMBER OF THE MONTH!!! Since A/Sgt De Dier transferred here from the 10th pct, he has been on a mission. His management style is aggressive and top notch. He has been put in for a well deserved promotion to A/Lt and he continues to impress on patrol as well as with his administrative skills. Without a doubt, a real future in this program!!! CONGRATS!!!
