I just want to say I hope that all members of this unit and their family, friends or associates are not injured. Very worried after hearing about the AMTRAK train derailment. Good luck and god bless everyone, hope all is well. On a side note my blessing goes out to the Brothers in blue we just lost here and in Mississippi.

A/SGT Stauber   SAFETY IS #1

Equipment issued to you by the department is issued FOR A REASON. If an incident arrises and you need to call it in- a radio is pretty important. If you encounter an EDP running towards you wielding a led pipe, your baton is pretty important!! Disciplinary actions given by this command are not meant to demean any officer, they are intended to correct actions. Our #1 goal is SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY. On the other hand if you walk into a gun fight...your baton won't be very useful. As a wise man once said..."Don't be a knucklehead". If you don't know who's saying this is then this is a reminder that patrol is back and you need to get your hours up.

DET. GREEN   Thank you!
05-12-2015 7:27:47 AM EST

I just want to thank the members of this command that came out to the funeral home yesterday in honor of my Grandfather and in support of me. It was a nice surprise to see my NYPD family walk into the room. I appreciate all the work that went into that surprise. I know that I'm a pain in the ass and it is tough coordinating things behind my back and believe me, I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. My grandfather would have been proud to know that his oldest Grandkid had so many friends that support him. Thank you so much! Great job #APC!

Sgt. Sterler, very well said! Regretfully, I was out of town on a business trip and unable to attend the funeral. I agree that the heartfelt support and gratitude of the public is quite moving during this challenging time for all in law enforcement. Fidelis Ad Mortem.

A/Sgt. Sterler   Today's tears.
05-08-2015 11:45:25 PM EST
I've been to too many police funerals, yet I've worn a shield long enough to know there'll always be another. And, despite my grizzled demeanor, a few tears always dampen my eyes every time I hold that salute as a hearse rolls by carrying another hero. But the most touching thing about today - the thing that made me sob audibly - was the hundreds of civilians who lined the path of the police officers walking between our vehicles and the church, the words ''thank you, thank you for what you do'' repeated endlessly by each of them. Many of these civilians were workers from the large hospital nearby - doctors and nurses, aides, orderlies and administrators from the look of the suits and scrubs, white coats and hospital IDs they wore. These are the people who themselves care for cops, firefighters and other civilians alike when it's OUR turn on the gurney, And they too face risks - from diseases known and unknown, from the blows of a patient who turns out to be an EDP, and from the hazards of protecting patients when THEIR facility is struck by storm, blackout or other crisis. The thought of these people pouring out to thank the thin blue line, at a time when too many clueless characters want to vilify us, has me crying as I write this. And I don't care who knows it. The appreciation and support they expressed actually has me shedding more tears than those for P.O. Moore, Detectives Liu and Ramos, Sgt. Stephanie Moses, APOs Marshalik and Pekearo, and a dozen more. But each of them are heroes and they would understand tears of gratitude. As much as we may like the decorations, the plaques, the certificates, the rank and even the words of appreciation of high Department officials, they're not what keeps us working, paid or unpaid. It's the appreciation of civilians like those who lined our path today that will keep me putting on the uniform and putting myself on the line time and time again. This post may be too long, but I needed to share this with those who were not able to be there.

A/SGT Stauber   Radios!
05-07-2015 12:40:50 PM EST

Last night radios were found to be returned to their charging bases backwards whereas the charging pins weren’t connected and half of them were left in the on position. Please be sure to check at the end of each tour that radios are in the OFF position and placed correctly in the charging bases (you will see a red light come on). WE NEED THESE RADIOS TO LAST!!! Taking care of our equipment is essential.
