I'M IN. It's important to remember why you became an auxiliary in the first place. For me, it's all about being a part of something bigger than myself. To serve the public and to wear The Uniform that people look to in times of crisis. To be depended on, knowing that I can provide help as long as I have the right intentions and the proper guidance and training. And also, to show my support to the thousands of men and women who lay their lives on the line and aren't given enough credit for it. There is absolutely no room for jealousy when you simply love the work you do and when you personally know that you're good at doing it. Glory and recognition is not what I signed up for. Satisfaction comes from within, and it comes from the "Thank you, Officer!" I receive from the public each time I step out. I am all for being a part of building up the morale again. February is coming to an end, but let's all come out strong in March. Count me in for the St. Paddy's Parade!

I played a lot of sports growing up. I was probably a better babseball player than I was anything else and I always got along with my coaches, which I think were just some awesome guys. I had many coaches. They were all different but, they were effective. One of my favorite coaches was coach Marzigliano(Ziggy). This guy went above and beyond and brought out the best in his players. I learned a lot from this man. He would always congatulate the players that performed well after all of our games. On the bus coming back from an away game or on our home field after. I was always one of his faves. He and I took a lot of heat for it because he would always recognize me. He didn't care. He told me once to not worry about what people think. He told me to keep playing well and forget those guys in the locker room that talk trash. He told me that they were just jealous. He was right. My performance and my stats didn't lie. I outperformed those that talked trash. Instead of working harder, they got louder. They were against me and I began to hate playing ball. But coach Ziggy always said that a lesson could be learned from this. True and It was more than a baseball lesson. It was a life lesson. A lesson on Jealousy. No matter how good I played and helped the team win, those knuckleheads hated me for being better than them. I never understood that. My teammates. WTF? They hated the coach for recognizing me also. The man that coached them to County finals. We were winning team. It never made sense. Today, I see it happening in this unit. There are officers working hard and coming in here non-stop to assist me with all types of things. There are officers that step up when I know that they had to cancel plans that they had. I see officers willing to help out their team and go above and beyond. I also see officers that are angry at me and my so called "favorites." That is a disgrace. I do not have "favorites." What I do have are certain people that I have chosen to surround myself with because THEY HAVE SHOWN ME that they are capable of doing this job alongside me. Some of you that are the loudest opponents of myself and these "favorites" have the lowest hours and you can't even cuff properly. How about YOU look in the mirror and question if you have what it really takes to be in this unit. How about YOU take responsibility for lacking the capability to keep up with those "favorites." How about you take that negative energy and turn it into positive energy. Show me that you are part of the greatness that we have created. Step away from the cliques of hatred that have been formed within this unit. Help me get rid of the new cancer cells that have formed. Help eachother out and stop the crap. If you do not like it here, leave or step up your game. This is reality! BE GREAT, DON'T HATE! ALL OF YOU IN THIS UNIT HAVE THE SAME OPPORTUNITIES TO SHINE. IT IS UP TO YOU TO PERFORM GREAT. SHOW ME WHAT YOU CAN DO! PUT UP OR SHUT UP BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, GROW UP!!! WE ARE THE BEST FOR A REASON. ALL OF YOU ARE PART OF THAT. DON'T RUIN IT OVER JEALOUSY!!! LET'S GET THIS THING BACK ON TRACK. STOP THE HATE. GET MOTIVATED TOGETHER. WHO IS IN?

A/DI Quinones   A little History‚Ķ.
02-23-2015 2:22:05 AM EST

For those of you in your first full year as members of CTTF Auxiliary Unit!!!! just a little History lesson on our Unit. I promise this will not be a full on lecture like one of our famous Sgt's give lol. This Unit is now going into it's 5th year. When this Unit first Started it was started with 3 groups of transfers from 3 different commands. for a total of 12 members. There are only 4 members left of that original transfer. Our first trainees had just over a dozen members. A/Sgt Deboer was our first in-house promotion from our first group of trainees. Also out of our first Class we also produced a Valedictorian for the entire APS course. OUr unit was the brain child of a 3 star Chief who knew the value that Auxiliaries brought to the department, as long as they were right one's. Chief Tuller was amazing. We are Fortunate to have Chief Chan and Cassidy and Inspector Hanover. And Let us not forget Detective Green who help to ignite a spark in this unit that helped it grow to the top Unit in the city!!!! This is your history, let's keep building!!!!

If you are planning on coming in Sunday be sure you are in prior to 1000. As Det. Green stated, the tour begins at 1000, that means you are dressed and ready to walk out the door at 1000. Give yourself enough time to get ready. This is a fun detail for those of you who haven't worked it before. Dress warm. See you all there.
