I wanted to thank the officers that joined me on Saturday and, if they ever were to read this forum, the crew of the USS New York for their incredibly warm welcome in giving us a private tour of the ship. The halls were decorated with memorials of our fallen PD and FD brothers from 9-11 and there were plenty of unit patches on display. I am not sure if they have our CTTF patch but we should make sure they get one!

Everyone needs to thank A/SGT. France and A/PO Morgan for their hard work and effort in setting up the party. Without them, the party never would've happened (thanks to yours truly). Ladies and Gentleman, START YOUR ENGINES. As Det. Green mentioned, we've got several huge details coming up the next 2 months. MONDAY, 1000hrs at the base. Lets get in and support OUR veterans who've served OUR country; some of those who are still serving in this unit. This is how we honor our veterans and make sure they're never forgotten. MONDAY, ROLLOUT @ 1000hrs. MOTIVATED, DEDICATED, PROUD. CTTF.

I can not begin to thank this unit for that wonderful promotion party last night. It really meant a lot to me. I'm a little to modest at times and have a hard time accepting positive feedback or praise. I had the chance to speak to a few of you last night and realized that what we do here at the CTTF goes beyond any job. We create and breed confident, productive leaders that love what they do. We promote team and teamwork. We embrace each other and accept everyone. We are a special and unique unit. Some of you really hit me in the heart last night. I realized last night that I am actually influencing some of your futures. That's big. That is way beyond what I thought I was doing. I know that this position has responsibilities but being a "role model" as a few of you put it is not how I see myself. It's very humbling to hear and heartfelt. Some of you will be leaving us in a few months for the Police Academy. One member explained that it is going to be tough to leave. My advice is to spread the passion for this job that you have learned from this unit. Keep the momentum going! Become an Auxiliary Coordinator and make a difference in young, motivated officers lives like I have had the opportunity to do. This has without a doubt been an awesome life changing experience for me. Now it's your turn to do the same. The job needs leaders! They need teachers! They need role models. You, be that role model. Always do the right thing. I am very proud to be your coordinator and I am extremely grateful for last nights party. THANK YOU!!!! Now, enough of the crap. MONDAY- Veterans Day Parade 1000 hrs! 27th- Balloon Blow up Detail! 28th- Thanksgiving!!!! LET'S FO CTTF!!! MOTIVATED, DEDICATED, PROUD!!!! WE ARE THE CTTF!!!!!

On this day, T.R. becomes the first US President to travel outside the country while in office; he went to inspect the digging operations at the Panama Canal... and it looks like he also pioneered the wearing of white leisure suits popular in the 1970s!

A/P.O. Morale Officer Stauber   Arnold's 6 Rules to Success
11-08-2013 5:59:11 PM EST

"1. Trust yourself: Many young people are getting so much advice from their parents and from their teachers and from everyone. But what is most important is that you have to dig deep down, dig deep down and ask yourselves, who do you want to be? Not what, but who. Figure out for yourselves what makes you happy, no matter how crazy it may sound to other people. 2. Break the Rules: Break the rules, not the law, but break the rules. It is impossible to be a maverick or a true original if you’re too well behaved and don’t want to break the rules. You have to think outside the box. That’s what I believe. After all, what is the point of being on this earth if all you want to do is be liked by everyone and avoid trouble? 3. Don’t Be Afraid to Fail: Anything I’ve ever attempted, I was always willing to fail. So you can’t always win, but don’t afraid of making decisions. You can’t be paralyzed by fear of failure or you will never push yourself. You keep pushing because you believe in yourself and in your vision and you know that it is the right thing to do, and success will come. So don’t be afraid to fail. 4. Don’t Listen to the Naysayers: How many times have you heard that you can’t do this and you can’t do that and it’s never been done before? I love it when someone says that no one has ever done this before, because then when I do it that means that I’m the first one that has done it. So pay no attention to the people that say it can’t be done. I never listen to, “You can’t.” (Applause) I always listen to myself and say, “Yes, you can.” 5. Work Your Butt Off: You never want to fail because you didn’t work hard enough. Mohammed Ali, one of my great heroes, had a great line in the ’70s when he was asked, “How many sit-ups do you do?” He said, “I don’t count my sit-ups. I only start counting when it starts hurting. When I feel pain, that’s when I start counting, because that’s when it really counts.” That’s what makes you a champion. No pain, no gain. But when you’re out there partying, horsing around, someone out there at the same time is working hard. Someone is getting smarter and someone is winning. Just remember that. Now, if you want to coast through life, don’t pay attention to any of those rules. But if you want to win, there is absolutely no way around hard, hard work. Just remember, you can’t climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets. 6. Give Back: Whatever path that you take in your lives, you must always find time to give something back, something back to your community, give something back to your state or to your country." Bottom line is here at CTTF we'll give you the tools and the support. Get yourselves motivated to be extraordinary because you only have 1 shot at this life. Everyone has excuses and the sooner you stop excusing yourself the quicker you will realize what you are capable of. If it was easy then everyone would do it. We're a phenomenal foundation for just about everything; discipline, physical fitness, community affairs, team building, problem solving, people skills, volunteer service, fear, and your resume. Veterans Day is an awesome opportunity to jump in with a fresh start. Get in there and back up Detective Green and this unit. This unit is a team and works best when everyone is working together. Let's go CTTF!!!!!!!!!
