Enough With the negativity. We are a family. One of our CTTF family members Has cancer. Instead of ranting and raving about our unit in a negative light, Maybe you should be more worried about our fellow brother who is battling cancer. It's funny every time a negative post goes up there's never a name attached to it. It's simple you don't like our unit transfer. If your hours suck and you did not do144 your getting dropped. This message board was created to get information out quickly. This message board is not Facebook Or officer.com. If you are a negative person stay the hell away from our message board.

P.O. GREEN re: SUGGESTION BOX
07-10-2013 8:23:50 AM EST
SUGGESTION BOX: There is a SUGGESTION BOX on the menu of this website. If you have a comment, question, or suggestion, do us all a favor and send it through the link. What went on last night into early this morning on this site is truly sad. THIS UNIT IS BETTER THAN THAT!!! Simple rules: Post your name, Positive Posts, Professional Posts, etc. This is not facebook and the negative stuff will not be tolerated and should not be tolerated. Utilize the link for anything negative. I can not address something if I do not know about it. If you have now realized it, there is a lot of pressure on my office to fill this unit, teach it, monitor it, and if possible, go out on patrol. I still drive the X.O. to top it all off, leaving very little time to mess around with negative stuff. BE ADULTS AND LEARN HOW TO WORK TOGETHER. MEETING ON TUESDAT 7/23 AT 1900. EVERYONE IS TO ATTEND!!!! NO EXCUSES
P.O. GREEN FRIDAY: 10-13
07-10-2013 7:39:35 AM EST
10-13, 10-13, 10-13!!! This Friday, P.O. Marco Hidalgo needs our help. He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer a little over a month ago. Marco is a 41 year old, 9/11 first responder that has a wife, 5 kids, and one grandchild. His family needs his NYPD family. ANYONE THAT DOES NOT UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT IT IS FOR US TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT ON FRIDAY(SUCH AS APO), DOES NOT BELONG IN A POLICE UNIFORM IN OUR COMMAND OR ANY OTHER COMMAND. It truly aggravates me to have APO question us, basically saying that he wanted to know why we should help on Friday when we ignored another Officer being sick. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WHAT OFFICER? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? BTW, the fact that we were questioned by APO proves that APO doesn't belong in this department or this unit. THIS FRIDAY, 10-13, 1800 X 2200, THE BLARNEY STONE PUB, 412 8 AVE.

P.O. GREEN re: Termination/Probation List
07-10-2013 5:39:04 AM EST
The Termination/Probation List will come out by noon today. There will be some serious changes ahead. Some will be terminated from the program and some will be put on the probation list. Both require shields and ID's to be handed in. THIS IS BUSINESS. I do not take pleasure in throwing people out. I do have a job to do and I will do it. The names of those being terminated or put on probation will be listed on a link on the left under "NOTIFICATIONS" later on today. Just rank and names will be posted. I will not post your status. If you are on the list, YOU MUST call the office and arrange a meeting with the coordinators.

A/PO Cosme Self-Defense Class: TONIGHT, 1900-2100
07-10-2013 2:56:29 AM EST
Having attended Officer Green's previous class, I assure you its worth the $25 for the practice and tactics you'll learn. Takedowns, pressure-holds, and sparring are an example of what you can expect. Being an experienced martial artist, I can attest that its in your best interest to learn many of the techniques that P.O. Green will go over tonight - they may save your life, in or out of uniform. I hope to see as many of you there as possible.

A/MORALE OFFICER STAUBER THIS STOPS NOW!!!!
07-10-2013 2:10:37 AM EST
ENOUGH! Who do you all think you are? Some of you who still can't manage to follow the basic in-house rules of posting your name are 'discouraged' from coming in to perform your responsibilities because of some gossip? The coordinators aren't addressing any of this anymore because they're burnt out. And rightfully so. Bunch of cowardly, ungrateful whiners many of you all are. Maybe something isn't getting through here, maybe some of you have somehow mistaken the NYPD as a Lamaze class. And being that I've been titled a Morale Officer I'm going to define and explain to all of you what this unit is about, what is expected of you within this unit and what is coming to an end RIGHT NOW. Lets start from the bottom up. Gossip; It happens everywhere. Work, school, family, government, he said she said BRUSH IT OFF. If you will learn only 1 life lesson from being an officer in this department and in this unit especially it's that ACTION SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. If someone is talking behind my back and I'm not doing anything wrong then I ignore them. If a little talk behind your back bothers you and you really care that much- well I'm sorry this isn't the place for you. There's no shame, you can come to me and I will confidentially refer you to many many other volunteer services/activities that could better suit you. This job doesn't have to be your responsibility if you don't want it to be. It's okay if you can't hack it. We're not therapists and we're not your guidance counselors- nobody here is going to coddle your feelings unless you show up with pancreatic cancer. And even then we wont coddle you we'll throw a god damn party and make sure you have enough money so the doctors can cure you! And as a side note- when one person makes a stupid anonymous comment there doesn't need to be 20 people responding to it. Bottom line is gossip is done, it's over with from here on in. If you have an issue regarding EEO or anything related then you can file a formal complaint. You are expected to do your hours, perform to the highest standards and reflect the greatest amounts of professionalism in this unit. We build character here. Whether you want to be a full timer on the job, exploring to see if it is something you'd like to do full time or you're in it because of the other 100 various reasons- take it for what it is...an OPPORTUNITY. We are here to build you up. To train you, to educate you, to instill discipline and order. We have many members involved in countless industries and areas of expertise which gives you the opportunity to form connections and open future doors of opportunities and possibilities. We are the best recommendation you could ever imagine on a resume. Many of you need to take a step back and reflect on the fact that you are a member of the largest police organization in the world. You wear the Law and Order patch. You have the red carpet to every event in NYC. Don't take it for granted. Now, moving forward. Read what I have said carefully, then read it again and let it soak in. No more comments/posts on the subject please. We have a serious detail to focus on for Friday and a very busy weekend to follow. Grab a broom and lets get to work. Time is your most valuable asset so make the most of it and use it productively. Watch out for each other because you're all playing for the same team. I hope to see you all on Friday, it's going to be a great time.

Well said James,my BTC of March 2013 please keep your standard
07-10-2013 1:51:24 AM EST
This is for the A/PO that has a problem with people talking about you. I mean this in the absolute nicest way possible. You knew what you were getting yourself into when you started the BTC for the NYPD Auxiliary!!! I don't mean to repeat what others say, but everywhere around you there will be people that don't... appreciate your presence, so why bother with their attention? You came into the NYPD to be the eyes and ears for them, and to protect NYC. In the end, we're all here for you as a team, whether or not people want to talk crap about you. I'm sure EVERYONE has gotten talked about but no one said this would be a social club. There hasn't been a time where I haven't heard a negative comment about the NYPD, on patrol. Honestly, I don't know about you but that gets me extremely angry, and probably gets me more upset than someone in my own command saying things about me that are insulting. We all have our own personal reasons to be an auxiliary police officer for the NYPD, but regardless of whatever those reasons are, I assume nobody here came to make friends. Think of it like this, whoever has an issue with you will have an issue, but no matter what we still stick together as a team and have each others backs when necessary. Now let's cut out the disrespectful crap out and show people what the CTTF Auxiliary Unit is really about. We're such a respected unit and this is absolutely not how we should be acting!

This whole "He said she said" problem was talked over a long time ago (back in late 2012 or early 2013) in a general body meeting. P.O. Green and P.O. Navaro along with almost all the supervisors talked to us and took care of the problem. It's not hard to remember that if you have any problems with anyone in the unit, you talk with one of coordinators or supervisors. You should know that if you bring a problem like this to our site, you wont get much progress, especially if you don't express yourself clearly. You really should stop being so sensitive about what some random APO said behind your back. Now if he or she dose not stop and things keep escalating to a certain point then simply reach out to P.O. Green or Navaro. You need to remember one thing, our line of work is VEERRRRYYY bipolar. You could be and patrolling and cracking a couple jokes next thing you know crap hits and the fan, you wont be in control who you are with when a something like this happens. You turn around and could be stuck with your favorite apo or with an apo who you can't stand, but the one thing that you need be sure is to have that persons back regardless or any problems you might have with him/her.

We can catch more bees with honey, than with vinager! Let's all respect each other and work as the CTTF family that we are. Many blessing to you all and pleasant dreams.
A/PO Cosme THIS UNIT IS BETTER THAN THIS.
07-10-2013 12:42:57 AM EST
This unit is about being the best you can be, not only in volunteer civil service but in your own personal life. There's always something more we can do to improve as individuals & as a team. Everyone has flaws; no one is perfect. We're all human. We are all here to better ourselves and each other. There's always going to be another problem, or another challenge to face. That's the harsh reality of life that is beyond our control. What we can control is our response to these challenges. Whether we respond positively or negatively? That's in our hands. That's entirely up to us, every day when we wake up and face life. United we stand, divided we fall.

"The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problem."
Mahatma Gandhi. Ladies and Gentlemen, Brothers and Sisters of Blue!!!! TO MAKE CHANGE YOU HAVE TO SHOW UP!!!! If you worry about what people say and how they act, come in and make a difference. This is the most DIVERSE UNIT in the entire program. There are 7 days of the week. Every Day is different!!! and Frith-jones there is a supervisor in tomorrow. It's Shield night. We leave the command 1800 hrs.

I normally wouldn't respond to an anonymous post from within the unit, but APO Frith-Jones' response is essentially right. Anyone in police work has to have a thick skin and be able to shrug off unkind remarks by the public and even by fellow officers. CTTF isn't supposed to be a kindergarten, but immature behavior crops up in even the most disciplined unit. The way to build up that thick skin is NOT to stay away, but to put in time and do a good job on duty. That should put an end to any bs remarks. Anyone who stays away just won't be around to hear the remarks and, before long, won't be around the unit permanently. Problem solved either way. Anyone who feels this advice doesn't fit their situation should speak privately with a supervisor they feel respects them. If there is none, try me.
