P.O. GREEN   GREAT JOB
03-07-2013 8:28:33 AM EST

Great job by all the members of the program that attended my self defense class last night. You guys learned a few moves very quickly in a short period of time. Very impressive. I will announce another date very soon. More takedowns, more ground work, more strikes. Thanks again.

Woahh, just woke up with the only sore shoulder but it was worth it. Id like to extend my thanks to Officer Green and the guys over at CTTF on throwing an event such as this. It was a real handson experience that should felt by all members of the Auxiliary program. The tactics learned were concise and effective should i ever have to deal with any perp on the street. I will surely attend another one of these training sessions without having to think twice ,especially if it involves having to use A/PO Cosme as our punching bag.haha. Once again thanks alot Officer Green and the guys over at CTTF, I look forward to having a courtesy tour sometime this month.

After tonight's class it became clear to me that as Auxiliary Police Officers we should be consistently train in some form of martial arts. Tonight's class can be summed up in one word: intense. I loved it. Its more than a bargain for $40 bucks. Having done formal martial arts training for several years in a different discipline, I recommend this type of training to everyone in our unit. Thanks to A/PO Shu from the 6th and my sparring partner A/PO "Pitbull" from the 72 for coming out tonight.

I expect to be in for patrol tonight by 1900 hrs, along with APO Fredericks. APOs who can come in earlier may wish to check w/ A/Sgt. France who, I believe, plans to get the patrol party started a good bit sooner.

CONGRATS AGAIN. I do not know if you were instructed by Officer Navarro to get the Unit Patch put on your coats but I am telling you to put the unit's horsepatch on your coats only for now. After graduation, you may put the patch on your shirts. Remember to pick the patch up with the rest of your stuff. You will have to ask for it since it is not part of the voucher.

I don't know!!!!! We shall see. Our members always seem to Surprise us at every detail. I think all are New members will be attending the St. Patrick's Day parade. I just came back from auxiliary headquarters shield night with our newly shielded members. All our newly shielded members look ready. I think we will have record numbers at this years St. Patrick's Day parade. I hope to see three vans rollup. I can't wait to see all the faces of all the other auxiliary commands when they see our elite unit. We are the CTTF.

Congratulations to the BTC Class, you all earned it. Welcome home. As far as we're all concerned, I echo the sentiments of Sgt. Sterler and agree: we all need to keep pushing forward TOGETHER, as a unit, as a team, as a family. Excellence is a sustained effort, its not something that's guaranteed or going to be handed to us. While we're resting, others are pushing forward, working at being the best. We have to keep pushing forward, TOGETHER. LETS DO THIS!!! CONGRATS BTC CLASS!!!

That's quite a conundrum, Captain. New members should bring to the table a fresh eagerness to get into action combined with the sharp memory of recent intense classroom instruction from the best. But not everything is learned in the classroom. If they're as smart as they appear to be, they'll also have enough respect for the program and its history to understand they're expected to continue to learn from the veterans as well. Veterans - at least those who have been putting in serious time on the streets (and that's an important caveat) - bring that valuable experience to the table. If I was choosing up sides, I'd rather bet on a combined squad of half veterans and half newbies than one of all one or the other

I smell a challenge between the new graduates vs our veterans. The Junior Varsity Vs The Varsity???? Who is going to win? Are the new guys going to out do the veterans? Or are the Veterans going to set the example and show/teach everyone how it's done? Officer Green who do you think will set the Standard? Officer Navarro who do you think will be on top when the year is over??? Everyone feel free to share your thoughts?

ATTENTION 2012BTC02: I would just like to say congrats to all of you on a job well done. Today you join the ranks of many who protect New York City. I wish you a safe career. Be smart. Sit back and learn. Keep your mouths shut and do not be know it alls. Learning this stuff in a classroom is one thing. The street is another animal. It's still the same people as always posting up attendance for the roster. It's St Patricks day and there are 80 officers in this unit. It's the same 15 members showing up every time and the same 65 members calling in with an excuse or just neglecting all together. What the hell is with all of you?! We all have day jobs/school/family/friends....its going to be really embarrassing when these cadets getting shielded this week start walking around the command with more credibility out of the gate than some of you who we only see once every 3 months. Stop making excuses and being lazy! Commit to this one day or just give up in general and hand in your shields because we could use the locker space and so the coordinators can sleep that much better at night- because they damn well don't deserve to lose sleep or energy over your pathetic sense of responsibility...C'MON!!!!! LETS GO!!!!!!!!
